Why we are here

Fundraising is so important, especially for charities after dealing with the COVID pandemic in the last 18 months. 

Here at Fairydust, we wanted to focus on LOCAL causes to find out what they need and how we can help.  We have given some common questions we are generally asked and hope that it gives you lots of information!!! 

Question 1

Why is fundraising important for Non-Profit Organisations? 

Fundraising is not just a means of raising money, but also a way to promote the message and goals of a charity. ... Given enough time and funds, a charity has the potential to go global. It ensures that the charity can continue funding and helping its cause, for example, funding research.


Question 2

What is a non-profit organisation? 

A nonprofit organization, also known as a non-business entity, not-for-profit organization, or nonprofit institution, is a legal entity organized and operated for a collective, public or social benefit, in contrast with an entity that operates as a business aiming to generate a profit for its owners.


Question 3

Are Fairydust Events non-profit? 

Yes, we are!  You will see at the top of each page our registration number with Companies House.  Our income as an organisation is the stall monies taken from our vendors for our events.  As with any non-profit organisation, we still have running costs and these funds are put back into the business to pay for items such as advertising & marketing, both online, local newspapers and radio, our website and other operational costs.  


We raise funds for our causes by on each event hosting a RAFFLE or TOMBOLA or AUCTION.  All monies raised from these efforts go to our charities chosen for that year.  


Question 4

Who are the charities for 2021? 

Our causes for 2021 are North West Air Ambulance and Age Concern Central Lancashire. 


North West Air Ambulance helicopters and HEMS response vehicles operate 365 days a year, with highly trained specialist doctors and HEMS paramedics on board providing enhanced pre-hospital care and hospital transfers to patients across the entire North West each year - an area covering 5,500 square miles and over 8 million people.


Since they launched in 1999, the charity has been called to over 24,500 missions across the region, with the service called out an average of three times a day


Age Concern Central Lancashire cares for all in our region including Elderly Services, Dementia, Day Centres and so much more!


Question 5

How do you pick your causes?

Good Question!  A lot of what we do is by referrals.  If you know of a local cause that needs help in 2022, then please do give us the details and we can look into supporting them.   We pick two charities a year and work with them to raise awareness and funds.


Other charities we have supported in the past include Derian House, Alzheimer's Society, Donna's Dream House and more!
