AGE CONCERN CENTRAL LANCASHIRE

Fairydust Events is VERY proud to be chosen as an Honorary Patron for this amazing local organisation in 2022.

Since 1981 Age Concern has been devoted to helping people live well and age well in Lancashire. From helping people to keep doing the things they want to provide support when the wheels fall off, Age Concern is the provider of choice.

Working especially with Dementia patients and their families, this is an invaluable service, in what is a heartbreaking time for all concerned.  As there is no cure at present for this awful condition, and having personal experience with a close family member, it is something that our director Sarah is very passionate about, and anything we can do to help with their amazing work is always gratefully received.

NORTH WEST AIR AMBULANCE

From accidental injuries to severe medical emergencies, North West Air Ambulance delivers specialist and enhanced pre-hospital care to the most critically ill and injured, and transport patients to the most appropriate hospital to achieve the best outcomes for them.

They receive no government or NHS funding and must raise over £9.5 million to keep them operational and in the air.  It’s only thanks to the generosity of people like you that they can continue flying to save lives.

They also support the Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity because they are raising funds to allow clinicians in Manchester to use DNA methylation profiling technology. This technology costs £185,000. It will help accurately diagnose the different types of brain tumours quickly so that the best and most appropriate treatment is provided to young patients quickly. Manchester Children's Hospital also provides funding for things like bedside chairs for parents and music therapy, things that are vital when your child is in hospital for a long period of time.

MILES FOR MITCHIE

This is the amazing story of an extremely brave little boy who had the fight of his life against Cancer.  It also showcases the family and how this awful disease can affect EVERYONE, not just the patient, to find out more please do visit their website and read MY STORY.

Miles for Mitchie are supporting a number of charitable organisations that have supported Mitchie through his journey.

The Brain Tumour Charity is an organisation our consultant, Dr JP Kilday is involved in. They undertake vital research into brain tumours, provide support to families affected by brain tumours. The Brain Tumour Charity is currently funding research into medulloblastoma to identify new drug targets.

Also, the family were lucky enough to stay in the Ronald McDonald House in Manchester whilst Mitchell was in the hospital.  Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families who need help while their loved one is in hospital. They allow families to have a place to rest, a place to sleep and a place to cook and enjoy meals together. A kind of normalcy in their upturned lives.

Supporting world-class treatment, research & outstanding care

At Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity, they are dedicated to making a difference to the thousands of patients treated at our hospitals every year.

Incredible things are happening across their hospitals each and every day, but there will always be a need for those added extras that can make all the difference to the patients. This is where this amazing charity comes in; they have made it their mission to help fund the items at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals which are over and above what the NHS can provide.

They make this possible by raising vital funds to ensure their hospitals are equipped with the very latest in technology, enabling vital research and making our hospitals a little more comfortable for patients and their families.

With your support, we can ensure that the patients treated at our hospitals have the best possible care, in the very best facilities.
